The Journey Begins..

Day 2 – Mendoza to Penitentes

Arrived in Los Penitentes after a 4 hour ride through the beautiful  Andes mountains. Staying at a refugio, had a sumptuous dinner. It’s at 8000 feet and there is a slight feeling of High Altitude.

DAY 1 of Trekking from Park Gate to Confluencia, summary at end.

It was our first day of trekking from the park gate to Confluencia. hike started around 11.24am and we finished 4km from 8800ft to 10300ft in about 3 hrs. It was very hot but managed to compete at a good pace. Tomorrow is a long and toughest day, climbing about 4000 feet to abt 14300 feet, 17km.

Relaxing day in Confuenica camp today, medical checkup soon ard 6pm.

Day 2 of Trekking- Confluencia to Plaza de Mulas ( Base Camp)

Trekking started around 8am after breakfast n stuff. Beautiful views

Day 3 of Trekking – Base Camp to Camp 1

Tough day of trekking, terrain is tough, steep elevation, slippery, no tree cover, steep drops. We covered it slow n steady, in 5 hours, lot of help from guides.
